His recommendations include: $9 million in department expensee reductions, $4.2 million in furlough as well asusing $6.7 million in reserves and Some of the suggested department reductionsw include: not adding two ambulances, discontinuingv yard waste collections and cutting 50 to 70 part-times positions, according to a list of recommendations released by the Residents would be able to take yard wastew to drop-off locations instead. All non-enterprise employeew would also be required to take six furlough days in 2009 and 10 in according tothe recommendations.
Dohoneg also presented a “planh B” to address projectedd shortfallsin 2010, which would include layingb off an unspecified number of full-time city adding that the administratio n will prepare a layoff plan for the 2010 budget.
