Sultanate of Oman Acquires C-130J Super Hercules

The aircraft, to be deliverer in mid-2012, is in the longer C-130J-30 "The C-130J is ideally suited to the operatingy conditions found in Oman and other areas ofthe Gulf, said , vice president for business development at Lockheed Martin "Again we see a countrt that has recognized all the provebn qualities of this world-leading airlifteer purchasing additional aircraft." Oman currently operatesd a fleet of three C-130Has purchased in the early 1980s.
The new C-130uJ will be used to furthe support Omani operations where its ability to operatd out of remote austere airstrips willbe invaluable. This ordetr for Oman brings to 10 the number of countries that have acquired Other nations which are operatingh or have orderedthe C-130 J include Australia, Canada, Denmark, India, Iraq, Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States.
